"Question everything generally thought to be obvious" - Dieter Rams

When I visited the Design Museum last week, I had a look at Less and More. This exhibition celebrates the work of Dieter Rams whose design ethos influenced Braun's range for over 40 years.

I really enjoyed reading Dieter Rams' 10 principles of good design. I can identify with each point; they are all so true. I think my favourite is the last one as I always feel the simplest designs are the most powerful. To produce an uncomplicated and minimal design is not easy.

Good design is innovative.
Good design makes a product useful.
Good design is aesthetic.
Good design makes a product understandable.
Good design is unobtrusive.
Good design is honest.
Good design is long-lasting.
Good design is thorough down to the last detail.
Good design is environmentally friendly.
Good design is as little design as possible.
