As soon as I saw this living room I knew I had to make a note of it. I wish I could step straight into the photo... everything about it seems perfect, to me. The white walls, the grey sofa, the touches of yellow and turquoise, the beautiful wood furniture. I just love it all!
Well, that's enough dreaming for now... I've been taking a bit of a blog break over the last few days and it will continue for a little while. I have A LOT of work to get done for uni, and I've been finding the Internet to be a terrible distraction. I forced myself to sit down on Saturday and write an essay, and... *shock* I actually enjoyed myself! The Internet is great for many things, but it's has a detrimental effect on my concentration.
I'm allowing myself to post when I see something that I'd like to make a note of, but I'm strictly limiting the amount of time I spend browsing other people's blogs. I'm also desperate to make another shirt dress, but that, too, will have to wait...

I was going to suggest an article about a muralist in New York to read (oh, here's the link if you need a break: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/15/garden/15location.html). Good luck on your work for school. I completely understand, I've needed a break lately too in order to better attend to other things in my life.
I love the window wall. So lovely. There are few things better than natural light.

Hi Rebecca.It was in history too. My Phd program wouldn't accept the credits from my MA, so when I left after the first year, I'd earned another master's. In that year, I studied 17th century religious life in Venice, specifically a cloistered nun who wrote books that were banned by the Vatican. My first year paper was about her correspondece with her literary patron and the ways that she crafted her self-representation in the letters. I also got to translate the letters from the Italian. It was really interesting, but also sad too.
I wonder where that sofa is from? We are in the market and I think my husband would approve of this one. So far everything I've picked he says is not "comfy" enough:)

Good luck with your work! The Internet is a bit of a vampire when it comes to concentration - I have to physically disconnect ours when I'm working on my books, because it's too tempting to check my email and favourite blogs every five minutes. :)
