Textural fabric

I came across this incredible textural fabric by Textile & Surface Designer Yemi Awosile via Bricolage Project. It looks like one complete piece with intricate slits cut out between each square - so innovative! I really like the way it takes on a structure of its own when draped.

Transition Wallpaper

Danish textile designer, Leni Toni, blends different patterns to create wallpapers that change from one design to another. I particularly like the patterns that look slightly old and faded as they seem to blend perfectly into a more modern print.

Clara Vuletich

I came across Clara Vuletich via Bricolage, which is a collective of London-based textile designers. Clara specialises in hand-printed textiles and wallpapers, and combines traditional printing methods with the latest technology to create striking, modern designs. She is involved in the Textiles Environment Design Project at Chelsea College of Art & Design (my college!). All her work is backed with a concern for the environment and on her website she lists her key environmental principles as:

1. Using recycled materials wherever possible
2. Conscientious use of colour
3. Sourcing of the best sustainable base fabrics and papers
4. Understanding of the ‘life-cycle’ approach to design

I particularly like the geometric printed wallpaper shown in the images above. It works so well across a whole wall as well as on the screen. I love the way sections of the print overlap.

Castle and Things

I neeeeeed some of this bedlinen and artwork by Castle to brighten up my home ready for the spring! Isn't it pretty? I'm really in love with the splashes of sunny yellow.

There's something so fresh and playful about these textiles. I really need that rug.. but I should be thankful that they don't stock a home range in Urban Outfitters in England, as I'm sure I'd spend dangerous amounts of time and money in there!

This new line of fabric and wallpaper by Sanderson is so pretty. It's a company that I would normally associate with more traditional designs, so it was such a surprise to see this fun Lucienne Day inspired dandelion print. I'd really like one of those cushions for my bed...

Juicy mid-century

I'm really loving these colourful designs by Zoe Murphy. She takes inspiration from her home town Margate, and reinvents midcentury furniture and recycles textiles. The designs are ethical and beautiful at the same time. She is a real inspiration as she only left university in 2008 and has already launched her own line!

Lucienne Day's Textiles

I adore these 1950s textile designs by Lucienne Day. The colours are so fresh and I would so like a cushion in the red butterfly print.
